Hi all, What are your opinions on Reiki? I've never experienced it myself, however a lot of people I respect seem to have a low opinion of it.
Has anyone here tried Reiki, and if so, what were your thoughts? What did it involve? Did it work?

I have also never had it... but I know quite a few Reiki masters.. and even they don;t think much of it. I also know that there are alot of bum practitioners out there who have bought their qualifications.
I have no idea of there theory behind it, but those I know who practice it can't explain ther theory to me either (in a way that makes any sense).
I have also heard of people giving reiki internationally over the telephone - which seems a bit.. aaaahem... to me anyway!
anyway... many keys to unlock the same door.

I have had 2 reiki treatments. I felt nothing and had no after effects either good or bad. Maybe I am not tuned in to my body or it is a crock?!
After, I found out they reiki masters (sic) call spirit guides to help them. I wouldn't have had anyone touch me if I knew that.
Lesson for me...find out about things before I buy and try.
I do feel a chump tho.

I think we'd all be far better off going to a good Yin style Qigong Tuina Practitioner if it is the soft stuff you like, or a yang style practitoner if you like the hard stuff.
